What does the package consist of?
Our basic package consists of an alarm base unit, which has an emergency button built into it and a pendant, which you can wear around your neck or wrist.
How does it work?
The equipment is linked via your phone line to our monitoring centre which is staffed by trained operators 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
How do I activate the alarm?
If you need help you simply activate the alarm by the pressing the pendant or the alarm on the base unit. A signal is then sent directly to our care centre and answered by an operator who will know who you are, where you are and has access to your emergency contacts. Your emergency contacts may be a relative, neighbour or a close-by friend, who can get to you quickly. In an extreme emergency this could be police, ambulance or the fire service.
What happens when I activate the alarm?
Each alarm unit has a sensitive microphone; you will be able to speak to an operator without even having to be next to the base unit. The operator will be able to organise assistance and the appropriate help even if you are unable to communicate with them.
Who provides it?
The service is managed by Mole Valley District Council (MVDC). MVDC’s telecare service is accredited to the Telecare Services Association Code of Practice and is a founding member of Surrey Telecare.
